The Atos Learning Institute has an Australia - New Zealand based Clinical Education Team that presents educational webinars, courses, and events for both Healthcare Professionals and Patients throughout the year. The Clinical Education Team provides clinical education, advice, and support.
Alan is a qualified nurse with over 38 years’ experience. As well as being a nurse Alan holds an honours degree in psychology. He has a post graduate qualification in Education and has worked exclusively with laryngectomees in UK, NZ, and Australia. Alan is a laryngectomee himself which helps him bring a special insight into living with a TL. He is passionate about improving the lives of his fellow laryngectomees and works tirelessly through consultations and the development of IT Technology.
Ally has been a nurse since 2015, working in respiratory medicine, intensive care, and virtual health roles. She is comfortable managing patients with altered airways such as tracheostomies and laryngectomies. Within Sydney, Ally has worked in both private and public hospitals within intensive care, most recently a head and neck cancer unit as well as rural locations such as Lismore and Alice Springs
Alanna is a speech pathologist with 15 years of clinical experience in assessment and management of swallow, speech and voice impairments across various diagnoses. Alanna is passionate about working with patients who have undergone treatment for head and neck cancer, including laryngectomy, using person centred care to achieve improved functional, and quality of life outcomes. She completed a Master of Cancer Sciences at Melbourne University in 2022 which compliments her clinical skills. Alanna has presented at local and national conferences, as well as being co-chair of the Victorian Head and Neck Cancer Special Interest Group.
Nicola is a speech pathologist with over 17 years of clinical experience gained across tertiary hospitals in the UK, Australia and Canada. She is a specialist in the field of Head and Neck Cancer and ENT. Nicola is passionate about working with patients who have undergone a total laryngectomy and is committed to improving outcomes from diagnosis to survivorship. Nicola completed her Doctor of Philosophy in 2025 at The University of Queensland, investigating surgical swallow outcomes within Head and Neck Cancer. Her research interests continue in the field of laryngectomy care and upper airway. Nicola has presented at several national and international conferences and lectured at The University of Sydney and Macquarie University. Nicola is a Clinical Educator for Atos Medical, providing clinical support to healthcare professionals working in laryngectomy care.
Danielle is a Clinical Specialist Speech Pathologist at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney, Australia. Danielle has over 20 years clinical experience working across Sydney and Canada, specialising in head and neck oncology and voice disorders. She completed her Masters by research degree in 2015, investigating the outcomes of transoral laser microsurgery for early larynx cancer. She was also awarded her PhD (Swallow, Voice and Laryngeal hypersensitivity in whiplash associated disorder) at The University of Sydney. She is a casual lecturer at The University of Technology and Macquarie University as well as a research affiliate with The University of Sydney. Danielle has been consulting for Atos Medical for over 5 years and is the treasurer of the Laryngology Society of Australasia.
