Following the success of the inaugural course, we are pleased to announce the 2026 course. The Laryngectomy and Altered Airway course returns with a focus on technique building and collaboration, the MDT approach. Some preliminary details are listed below with more information to come. Meet Our Presenters

Dr. Eduard Pudel is a Melbourne-based ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgeon with special interests in head and neck tumour surgery, laryngectomy, sinus surgery, rhinoplasty, paediatric hearing loss, and obstructive sleep apnoea. Dr. Pudel was born in the Ukraine and moved to Australia in search of a better life with his parents in 1987. He conducted his medical school, surgical training and specialisation in Australia between 1993 and 2007. He spent an additional year in Ireland undertaking an ENT fellowship and began his private practice in Brighton upon his return in 2008.

Dr. Leba Michael Sarkis is a Sydney based dual international fellowship trained Head and Neck Surgical Oncologist accredited by both the Royal Australasian college of surgeons and the American Head and Neck society, the world largest body for head and neck oncologists. He is the only Head and Neck Surgeon in the country who is both a Dentist and a Surgeon allowing him to competently treat the entire spectrum of head and neck surgery including Head and neck cancer and reconstruction with dental rehabilitation, thyroid and parathyroid surgery and melanoma.

Dr. Danielle Stone is a Clinical Specialist Speech Pathologist at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney, Australia. Danielle has over 20 years clinical experience working across Sydney and Canada, specialising in head and neck oncology and voice disorders. She completed her Masters by research degree in 2015, investigating the outcomes of transoral laser microsurgery for early larynx cancer. She was also awarded her PhD (Swallow, Voice and Laryngeal hypersensitivity in whiplash associated disorder) at The University of Sydney. She is a casual lecturer at The University of Technology and Macquarie University as well as a research affiliate with The University of Sydney. Danielle has been consulting for Atos Medical for over 5 years and is the treasurer of the Laryngology Society of Australasia.
